Volunteers make the event possible!

Volunteer at the Wish-A-Mile Bicycle Tour and make a difference in the lives of Michigan children with critical illnesses!

There are a variety of three-Day volunteer opportunities available, including:

  • Managing a break stop: Help keep riders fueled and hydrated at our rest stops along the route. They are early mornings, you must be able to lift at least 25 pounds, drive a cargo van, put up and take down tailgate style tents, etc.
  • Driving a SAG vehicle: Provide support and guidance to riders along the route. They are early mornings, long days, driving alongside cyclists to provide support, etc.
  • Road Crew: Place signage along the route, help clean up at break stops and remove signs after the last of the riders have gone through. They are early mornings and long days, and box trucks are used for these roles.

Volunteers for these opportunities MUST commit for all three days (July 25-27) of the tour and be at least 21 years old. Volunteers on the tour will work with a partner. You can recruit your own partner or we can partner you with another volunteer. You will drive an official tour vehicle that will be provided by Make-A-Wish Michigan. Volunteers (all three days) must complete a background check, driving record check and have a valid driver’s license with auto insurance. Personal vehicles are prohibited on the tour.

If you would like to become a volunteer on the tour for all three days, please contact Kedrin Gall, Director of Rider and Donor Relations at 810.522.6510.
