Volunteers make WAM possible!
The Wish-A-Mile® Bicycle Tour has a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the tour and on the different routes that are offered. WAM 300 volunteers must commit for the full tour which runs Thursday, July 22 – Sunday, July 25, 2021 and be at least 21 years old. WAM 50, WAM Jr. and Heroes Hurrah (finish-line celebration) must commit to Sunday, July 25 with various times depending on role (WAM 50 volunteers also must be at least 21 years old). WAM 300 and WAM 50 volunteers will be paired with a partner. You can recruit your partner or you can be paired with someone. You will drive an official WAM vehicle that we provide, you also must complete a background check and have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance. Personal vehicles are prohibited on the tour.
Volunteers on the various routes will either be driving a support and guide vehicle (SAG), managing a break stop or marking the route as our road crew. If you are interested in volunteering at Heroes Hurrah, our finish-line celebration, it will take place on Sunday, July 25, 2021. We need volunteers to help with kids' games, parking, finish-line festivities and more. Heroes Hurrah is also a wonderful way to get your community groups or co-workers together to have a fun day of volunteering! Our volunteers are some of our most powerful fundraisers! WAM volunteers who choose to fundraise will be given access to a variety of fundraising tools when you register. Simply let us know that you are interested in fundraising, and we'll make sure you get set up with your fundraising page where you can set a fundraising goal, update your page to share your story on social media, email supporters and qualify for great fundraising prizes!
